Help the United Way of NWLA ‘Fill the Bus!’
Sure, it won't be an actual physical bus this year, but the United Way of Northwest Louisiana still needs your help to help our area students!
It's back to school time and now more than ever, families are in need of some assistance with making sure our area children have all the tools they need for their education. It doesn't matter if they're learning in person or virtually, school work still requires paper and pencils! Let's make sure that no kid goes without here in northwest Louisiana!
Normally, the United Way of Northwest Louisiana would be set up at Walmart at school supply drive events. But, because of the pandemic and social distancing, the United Way is filling a virtual school bus! Yep, you can help from your couch in your yoga pants in one of two ways. You can host a supply drive at your place of work or you can donate directly by purchasing supplies online through Walmart.
Then there's the other side of the coin. What happens if you find yourself in need of assistance for back to school this year? Times are tough and folks are facing reduced hours and being furloughed from their jobs. Just so you know, there's no shame in asking for help. The United Way is here for you!
