Volunteer Your Time & Talents During Shreveport’s ‘Day of Caring’
The United Way of Northwest Louisiana is once again hosting the organization's largest, single-day volunteer event, their 'Day of Caring.'
The United Way of Northwest Louisiana has announced they'll hold their annual 'Day of Caring' Thursday, April 28, 2022, at the Bossier Civic Center.
So, how do you get involved? I'm so glad you asked! The United Way of Northwest Louisiana wants you to put together a team for their Day of Caring and show up ready to work!
The project they've picked this year is to put together essential needs bags for hurricane evacuees. Many hurricane and other natural disaster evacuees leave their homes without anything but the clothes on their backs. These 'essential needs' bags will be filled with everything from clothing to toiletries and other personal products to help them during their time of need.
Not only will you and your team feel a sense of accomplishment for helping folks in a tough place, but you'll also be eligible for prizes as well! After all of the kits are packed, the United Way is hosting a party with lunch, music by DJ Pooh, mini-golf, raffles, and more. Donors will have a chance to win raffle items, too. Here's what the United Way says they have to give away so far!
The raffle prizes include a YETI cooler, Instant Pot Duo multi-cooker, Ooni gas-powered pizza oven, Farberware toaster oven & air fryer, and a one-night stay at Sam’s Town Hotel & Casino with a dinner certificate to William B’s Steakhouse.
The deadline to register your team for the 'Day of Caring' is Monday, April 18th, so get your friends together and click here to enter your team!
