In the culinary world, there is a big push among chefs and restauranteurs to offer diners selections that include foods that are locally sourced from farm to table. If you ask me, that's the best kind of food there is. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has put a bit of a crimp in dining out, and while a lot of us still crave farm-fresh goodness we just don't know how to find it.

Until now.

The Louisiana Department of Agriculture has created an easy tool for consumers to find local farmers that are still selling their wares. It's a directory of farms in the state that are still selling directly to consumers, local farmer's markets, and distributors selling Louisiana products still operating within the state's COVID-19 guidelines.

The directory and map, look for it under the LA Farm Food Map and Directory tab, is a great resource for those who are wanting to purchase farm-fresh products from reputable suppliers who are providing safe products.

Let's face it, many of these Louisiana farms and producers could use the business too. So, if you're on the lookout for fresh foods, fruits, and vegetables, I do hope you'll at least take a look at what local suppliers are operating near you. Who knows, you just might find that perfect food source to provide great fresh ingredients for your favorite stay at home meals.
