Will 2021 bring a return of the popular show 'Rolie Polie Olie'which was created by Shreveport's own Bill Joyce? A recent Tweet by Joyce indicates that is a strong possibility.

Joyce has announced on Twitter that he's working on new shows.

Folks are very excited to hear this news. One fan says "More Rolie Polie Olie?!? Oh man my mom's going to be excited- she had a weird little dog named Zolie (RIP, miss that dog, she was a sweetie pie) and she was always so tickled by this show's name and insisted on watching it with her dog because of this."

And this from another huge fan:

ok, I used to love this show up until I was about 4. We have this small tv and if you turn the volume up to 7 you have to cover your ears it's so loud. In one episode, one of the characters whistled and so my ears hurt so bad because it was so high pitched and loud. PTSD today.

And perhaps my favorite reaction is from this a woman who says:

New RoliePolieOlie?!?! My childhood is returning! I remember watching this and PB&J Otter as a kid. Good times

KEEL News reached out to Joyce to ask him about the Tweet and he said:

There's been a lot of chatter and excitement about the possibility of a return of the series with the original producers and Rolie Polie I want my fans to know he has been creating some new ideas for the series and exploring the possibility of bringing it back.

The tv show grew from the original Rolie Polie Olie books which were written by Joyce. There are more than a dozen books in the series.

Rolie Polie Olie won a Daytime Emmy Award for "Outstanding Special Class Animated Program" in 2000 and 2005. Joyce won a 1999 Daytime Emmy for Best Production Design for the series.
