Big news for Southwest Louisiana. The Isle of Capri, owned by Eldorado Resorts, will be the first riverboat casino in Louisiana to move inland. The Law changed last year but it will still require The Isle Of Capri to be within 1,200 feet of its designated riverboat area.

According to KPLCTV  and the Louisiana Gaming Control Board, the $112 million project will be built between the current hotel and parking lot. Ronnie Jones the Chairman for the Louisiana Gaming Control Board said, the new casino will feature new restaurants, lounges, entertainment, and they are adding amenities to the properties.

Jones also commented about Eldorado Resorts saying, “These guys are the first and they’re making a huge commitment to economic development in the area. They’ve got an ideal location, you can throw a rock off the interstate and hit that casino. They’ve got a great location and they’re trying to take advantage of that.”

This new facility will have about 72,000 square feet of gaming space, more slot machines, more tables, a VIP Lounge, and restaurants with a view of the lake.
