Traffic Advisory Issued for Ford Street in Downtown Shreveport Today
Traffic to the immediate west of downtown Shreveport will likely be an adventure that most will want to avoid for most of the day today.

In a traffic advisory from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, we learn that drivers should expect intermittent, slow-moving lane closures most of today on a section of LA 173 (Ford Street) in the downtown Shreveport area.

As indicated on the map above, this slow-moving operation will take place on a stretch of Ford Street between Pine Street and Hartman Street, and is necessary to allow the contractor to perform preliminary work related to an upcoming asphalt overlay project to repair Ford Street.
DOTD states that "Weather Permitting" this operation will be today only.
The upcoming project for Ford Street, which will provide a variety of roadway and curb repairs, is slated to begin later this month and once a start date has been finalized, DOTD will issue additional information on that project.
