This 3-Ingredient Fly Hack Is Getting Attention in Texas
A simple DIY fly trap shared online is gaining attention among Texans looking for an easy way to reduce flies, mosquitoes and other flying pests. The homemade mixture uses three common household ingredients that many social media users claim can help attract and trap insects around the home.
Why Flies Are Such a Problem in Texas
Anyone who has lived in Texas for more than a year understands that flies, bugs, and those annoying mosquitoes are going to pop up especially in the warmer months. Even if you keep your kitchen sparkling clean, you’re going to see a few flies hanging around, but there was something online that should eliminate that problem for you. So, of course I wanted to share the new life hack I found with you.
I’ll admit that I probably have a few more flies in my kitchen as my dogs have a door, they can open that is close to the kitchen, so we spend more time swatting at flies than most. Which is why I was excited to hear about this simple combination of household items that can help eliminate your issues with flies, bugs, and mosquitos.
Ingredients for the DIY Fly Trap
This life hack to kill all those flies, bugs, and mosquitoes was posted on social media by a group called Texas Pet Rescue and it’s just three ingredients. You will need
- ½ cup of vinegar
- ½ cup of olive oil (or other vegetable oil)
- ½ cup of shampoo
How to Make the Homemade Fly Trap
First, mix all the ingredients together in a container you’re okay with throwing away. Next you will place the bowl/container in the area that is attracting the annoying pests. Leave the mixture out for a few hours and see whether it helps reduce the number of flies around your home.
