Shreveport Felon Arrested With Multiple Firearms

Convicted felon arrested with multiple firearms

On August 29th, 2023, around 6:26 p.m. proactive Shreveport Police Patrol officers conducted a traffic stop in the 5100 block of Westwood Park Drive in reference to traffic violations. During the traffic stop officers contacted the driver Joshua Stewart (3-18-97). Officers conducted a search of the vehicle locating five firearms and a large amount of ammunition.

Further investigation into the matter revealed that Stewart was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to being a convicted felon for prior felony offenses. Stewart was arrested on one count of being a convicted felon in possession. The firearms were seized as evidence.

Suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
