Governor John Bel Edwards says the clock is running out on finding solutions to Louisiana's budget crisis.

We talked at length with the Governor about the thousands of letters that have gone out to nursing home residents telling them they may no longer have funding. During the interview on KEEL Friday morning, Edwards said

There wasn't anything that was hidden about this it was discussed publicly many times. There is a legal requirement to give public notice if the funding changes. I still think we can and should fix the problem by July 1st, but if that doesn't happen we have a legal and moral obligation to let people know what lies ahead and give them an opportunity to find services through another program.

We also talked to the Governor about possible solutions to the budget mess. He gives us some of his ideas for shoring up the shortfall.
