In a time when it feels like the entire world has gone completely mad, you notice something like this... and once again, you have faith in humanity.

Yesterday was one of those days. It wasn't a bad day, I was just restless. I'm sure pretty much everyone is feeling the same way, even though we have more freedom than we had while we were sheltering in place due to COVID-19. I heard it put best on Facebook, 'I'm itchy, twitchy, and bitchy.' I think that about sums it up. Honestly, and this is just my opinion, having been in 'lockdown' for so long, people got pent up and it's making our current circumstances even worse. People are scared and don't have an outlet. That's when explosions happen.

As I was leaving a late lunch at Chimi V's in Bossier with my girlfriend Rhonda yesterday, I spotted this sign. Clearly, someone put in some effort. This isn't just a piece of posterboard with stenciled letters on it. And then it hit me... this is the same kind of display I had been seeing on the world news in Europe. An outward display of a community's appreciation for their front line workers.

Sure, we're all whining and complaining a bit, it's human nature... and an election year. But I want all of our first responders, military, teachers, and healthcare personnel to know how much I personally, deeply appreciate what you do each and every day. So, I'll be going to stock up on some padlocks and placing my own on that chain link fence in front of Chimi V's on Old Minden Road in Bossier City. Mine will be in honor of my brother, my sister-in-law, and my nephew, all who are registered nurses locally. I'll also place another for my friend Rhonda's husband who is with the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office. I hope you're able to add your own in appreciation as well.

7 Wishes for Humanity in the Post-Pandemic World
