Louisiana has two of the top ten fattest cities in America and three of the top twenty.  We are literally chewing up the competition. In a study done by Wallethub that analyzed fat prevalence, weight related medical problems and a healthy overall environment, Shreveport scooped up the Silver Medal finishing number two,  New Orleans just missed finishing in the dough by placing fifth, and Lafayette grazed into the top twenty at seventeen  And all of that chewing the fat can lead to high medical bills later in life that starve your wallet, as $316 billion dollars a year is spent in this country on obesity related treatment every year. Jill Gonzalez, analyst for Wallethub, says that our state is number 1 when it comes to adults who eat vegetables less than one time a day, and we are also among the most inactive. More alarming is the fact that our children and teenagers also finished in the top tier for obesity, inactivity, and weight related medical issues. The fattest city in America as deemed by Wallethub was Memphis, and the skinniest?  Honolulu.
