According to the above report, the 3-year-old daughter of a New Orleans man was injured after accidentally discharging a gun that she found inside of her family's home. The original report was that her 41-year-old father, Barry Frelix, had taken her out for a late-night walk when he heard gunshots and then noticed his daughter had been hit.

While the young girl is expected to make a recovery, she was transported to the hospital by her father on the night of the incident per reports. More research done by detectives found that Frelix's story may not have been accurate. They now believe that the young girl had found a gun inside of the house and discharged it, injuring herself.

Frelix, the Father of the 3-year-old, has been arrested and booked on second-degree cruelty to a juvenile as well as obstruction of justice and illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon according to the reports. He is currently being held without bound in the Orleans Parish Prison.
