It's a place so many people sneak away to sip wine and paint. If you ask me it's the most perfect pairing, well add a charcuterie board and I am in heaven.

Date night or family night? Maybe you and your friends are determined to do something out of the ordinary, there is one place people love to go in Shreveport. Painting With a Twist is where you get step-by-step instructions on how to paint your very own masterpiece that you can take home and hang on your wall.

Many companies flocked to Painting With a Twist to have their employees enjoy team-building exercises. Painting With a Twist had a fun option for just about everyone.

Unfortunately, after the horrid news we found out on October 2nd, those days are gone in Shreveport.

The owner of Painting With a Twist took to their Facebook page to share the sad news of their immediate closing.

Why did Painting With a Twist Close?

According to the owner of Painting With a Twist, the city of Shreveport forced them to be zoned as a “bar,” even though their main commodity was never alcohol. So, when bars were closed because of Covid, Painting With a Twist was also forced to close. The owner said, "We could do the exact same thing in Studio B for kids, but not in Studio A b/c it’s zoned as a bar.” The fun escape for Shreveport residents was never able to financially recover from being shut down and are now being evicted.

Could this all have been avoided if the city of Shreveport would have zoned the business properly?

The owner is selling off everything inside of the business.

They are having a liquidation sale on Monday, October 4, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. if you would like to get in on some savings.

Painting With a Twist is located in the Pierremont Plaza the address is 1409 E 70th St, Shreveport, LA 71105
