Battle on the Border High School Football Showcase
The finest high schools from the region will be battling it out this Friday and Saturday at Shreveport's Independence Stadium. Tickets start at $10.

Louisiana Downs Super Derby 38
This Saturday, you can see the best three year olds in the country run for a $200,000 pot in the 38th annual Louisiana Downs Super Derby. Festivities start at 10:30am, with racing starting at 12pm. The Super Derby race opening ceremonies will start at 3pm.

Carden Circus Spectacular
The Carden Circus Spectacular is coming to George's Pond at Hirsch Coliseum this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Lions and tiger and bears, oh my! Tickets start at $10.

The 8th Annual Ray Forcier Memorial Rodeo is this Friday and Saturday in Benton, LA at Willie Waggoner Memorial Arena. Kids are $5 and adults are $10.

The brand spanking new Krewe of Nemesis in Webster Parish is holding their first royal coronation this Saturday in Sarepta, LA at Muddy Bottoms ATV and Recreation Park starting at 7pm. Tickets are $35.

Head to Margaritaville Resort Casino this Sunday from 2-5pm for SIP Unlimited featuring wine, food and entertainment from right here in northwest Louisiana. Tickets are $75 and VIP tickets are $150. SIP celebrates the unconquerable spirit of local restaurant legend Kuan Lim, owner of Lucky Palace who is battling cancer. Proceeds honor Kuan Lim’s life of service to the community, industry, friends and his guests.

The Tom Rutledge Memorial READY-SET-BREATHE 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for this Saturday from 8-10am at Benton United Methodist Church. This run will benefit the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.

PACE's 9th North Louisiana Gay and Lesbian Film Festival
PACE's 9th annual North Louisiana Gay and Lesbian Film Festival starts this Friday, September 8th and runs through Thursday, September 14th with a variety of different events including a reception Saturday for $25. All film tickets are purchased at the Robinson Film Center box office. Tickets start at $8.50.
