Rockets Over The Red Fireworks Festival 2020 Canceled
Unfortunately, Governor Edwards' proclamation moving Louisiana back to Phase 2 of reopening has necessitated the cancelation of the 2020 Rockets Over the Red Fireworks Festival and Mudbug Market scheduled for this weekend. They aren't able to hold the event due to capacity restrictions.
Edwards says that the new modified Phase 2 restrictions are very similar to the ones we were under for most of the summer. Stadium capacity at sporting events will be restricted to 25%. Bars will not be allowed to operated in parishes with over 5% positivity, as opposed to the current 10% positivity cap. The new restrictions go into place Wednesday, November 25, 2020, and will remain in effect until December 23, 2020.

This year, more than ever, we need to wrap ourselves in the spirit of the holidays and we'll be able to embrace the kickoff to Christmas in Shreveport-Bossier City with a two day Rockets Over the Red Fireworks Festival and Mudbug Market Friday and Saturday, November 27 - 28, 2020, from 3 - 8 pm in downtown Shreveport. The best thing about this event? It's free!
It's going to be double the fun this year when you cross off everyone on your list at the special Mudbug Market in Riverview Hall while waiting for the annual Christmas fireworks display. There will be plenty of food trucks on hand with fare to suit any palate as well as activities for the kids. Worried about safety? The event organizers are taking every precaution to ensure your safety. Attendees are being strongly encouraged to mask and socially distance and there will be signs and volunteers on site to remind patrons of this. Hand sanitizer stations will be placed throughout Riverview Hall and bathrooms will be sanitized every half hour.
This year's event is being produced by Downtown Shreveport Unlimited with support from Oschner and the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau and is a part of the Louisiana Holiday Trail of Lights.
