Captain Jerry Casey from Monroe's Salvation Army unit told us about Wednesday's night's tornado in Ruston and what area folks can do to help.

Casey tells us that his efforts have been joined by Salvation Army chapters from both Shreveport and Lafayette "The initial thing we do when we come in is food for the victims," said Casey, "Our aim is to help the people affected by the storm both spiritually and physically."

Casey adds that of the three units currently in the city, "One is a roaming unit, going through the streets, where the workers are working and for people who are still in their houses." He adds that the Salvation Army has set up a shelter at the Glenview Elementary School and that trucks are set up on the scent to assist others affected by the storm.
