When I was scrolling through the KSLA website, I saw the story of a TV anchor in India who learned of her husband's death while reporting the story live on air.

You have to admit, she handled the incident with class. But this story hit a little too close to home for me. Just over 10 years ago, I found out about my father's passing while I was live  on the radio just two days before my dad was supposed to walk me down the aisle for my wedding.

I don't remember much about that day other than Shawn, my morning show partner at the time on K945, telling me to leave to be with my family and that he'd handle things in my absence. Thank goodness he had broad shoulders and took control of the situation because I was in shock and running on autopilot.

I generally don't talk about this much, but this story hit me smack dab in the gut. Here's a sincere reminder to tell your loved ones how you feel and to do so often. You might not get another chance.
