Shreveport-Bossier’s Pandemic ‘Silver Linings’
There are two types of people in this world. Those that see the glass half full and those that see it half empty. This is for the ones who know they're blessed and highly favoured!
Yes, the pandemic has been hard. People have gotten sick, lost jobs, lost loved and lost their own lives. However, it's also caused the vast majority to take a pause. How long has it been since you took a break to just BREATHE? It's hard to find time for yourself in between ball practice, dance, dinner plans, doctor's visits, etc... That's why so many, including folks right here in Shreveport-Bossier, to be thankful for the gift of time during lockdown.
Personally, I spent a lot of time reconnecting with friends and family virtually and spending more time being introspective and re-evaluating life goals and progress. My yard also looks better than ever!
We asked about your pandemic silver linings this morning on air and the very first caller said she was so thankful because her two boys were saved during their family's independent Bible studies at home. I can't imagine the peace that gives her! I also asked my friends on social media what they were thankful for during the pandemic and I was inspired by the thoughtful and heartfelt sentiments.
Shelley Renee Polk - 'I'm 51 with 7 year old twins and 21 year old twins. This "break" has taught me to slow down and just enjoy. I have had so much fun just being with my younger two during this and seeing things through their eyes. It makes me wish I had done more of that with my older two.'
Arthur Nerio - 'I've taken some much needed work on me time. Which has the effect of helping others'
Kathleen Calhoun - 'I have cherished not dashing off somewhere all the time... I have been able to ride (horses) any time I want and realized I’m not such a bad cook after all!!!'
Julie Wrzesinski - 'I used it as a trial run for when my husband retires. He was home for 7 weeks and we survived. I kinda wish he would take the early retirement because we talked at length about remodeling our house, but he wants to do the work. Since he is staying at work, the remodel is on the back burner for a while.'
Bubba Hattaway - 'I have spent more time talking to people on social media. I found out that there are still some very special people left in this world. Don’t want to mention any names but ones initials is EB' (Thank you Bubba!)
Trey Thames - 'I’ve become even closer with my true friends...'
Lovely, right? I'd love to hear what you have to say about your personal silver linings! Check more replies out on the post below, make sure to add yours and give me a follow;)
