Have you ever wondered what really goes on during a day in the life of a Shreveport firefighter? How the men and women who put their lives on the line everyday by going into burning buildings? How their families feel about life with a firefighter?

Well thanks to local, fellow, Shreveport firefighter, John Phelan, people around the city and even around the country can see what actually goes on during a twenty-four hour shift, inside AND outside of the fire station.

Phelan doubles as a Shreveport firefighter at the Central Fire Station in Downtown Shreveport, as well as, a film producer.

As Phelan told KSLA, "I love what I do. I love being a fireman. My dad's a Deputy Chief up in Massachusetts. He's been on since 1991. It's kind of in my family,"

But he always watched TV where all you see is the lights and sirens...what really goes on behind the scenes? So he decided to tell the world. Phelan started a web based series with Black Helmet Films called "Another 24" that shows how firefighters live each day, in all aspects of their lives.

"We wanted to show everything about being a firefighter. That includes just sitting down and eating together, having our family time, time outside of the job with our family. There's so much more to this job than just making a runs, and getting on that truck and making noise going down the road."
