Shreveport Man Arrested For Alleged Sexual Crimes On Juveniles Dating Back Decades
54-year-old Herbert Nezat, Jr. of Shreveport has been arrested for alleged sexual incidents that happened in the Port Barre area dating back to the 1970's and’1980’s.
St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz says Nezat was first arrested on May 18 on two counts of aggravated incent after two victims told authorities the alleged crimes happened when they were both under the age of 13. Deputies say Nezat admitted to sexually assaulting them, as well as numerous juveniles who have yet to come forward.
After bonding out ($30,000.00 bond) on May 20, another victim came forward on June 7, leading to another arrest of Nezat on June 25 on one count of aggravated incest. He’s been given a bond of $10,000.00.
“According to Louisiana Revised Statutes, if a sexual crime occurs when the victim is a juvenile, the alleged incident can be reported to a law enforcement agency up to thirty years after the juvenile becomes an adult,” says Sheriff Guidroz.
