The Mask Mandate is Back In City of Shreveport Buildings

In news I'm sure will be clarified several times in the next few days, KTBS and several other news outlets are reporting that the City of Shreveport is fully reinstating the indoor mask mandate that requires everyone with in a City of Shreveport building to wear masks once again.  The Louisiana Department of Health thinks that may not be cautious enough.

The Mask Mandate is Back in City of Shreveport Buildings Due to a Sharp Rise in Cases

According to the latest numbers from the LDH on COVID infections, new cases have doubled in the last week in regards to both new cases and hospitalizations.  While those figures pale in comparison to the pinnacle of of the pandemic, the sharp rise in new cases and infections is enough to raise more than an eyebrow.  Louisiana's top health agency is suggesting that residents follow these steps to help combat the latest surge:

To reduce transmission, regardless of vaccination status, mask in all indoor public spaces.

  • Work remotely if feasible.
  • Limit exposure to individuals outside your everyday household.
  • Get tested for COVID-19 before and after traveling or gathering with individuals outside your everyday household. LDH recommends testing one to two days before travel and three to five days after travel
