Over the weekend, a Shreveport teenager allegedly brought a semi-automatic gun to his high school's homecoming dance.  18-year-old senior Tommy Thompson (pictured above) was placed under arrest by Shreveport police after a video surfaced of the student flashing the weapon in front of Booker T. Washington High School.

According to the Shreveport Times,  the video was discovered on social media by an unnamed eyewitness who showed school administrators immediately.  An internal investigation was launched, and police were notified right away.  After reviewing the video in question, Thompson was arrested and charged with possessing a firearm in a firearm free zone.

Thompson reportedly admitted to police that he was in possession of a Glock model 23 and that he made a video to post on social media.  He retains that it was never his intention to hurt or scare anyone.
