Splash Kingdom To Host A Pokemon Themed 2K

"Pokemon Go" continues to make waves across the country. This coming Saturday you'll be able to makes some waves of your own with Pokemon at Splash Kingdom Waterpark.

Splash Kingdom Waterpark in Shreveport is having its very first 2K this Saturday, August 13th at 10am at 7670 West 70th Street, Shreveport. It’s called the Dash, Hatch & Splash 2K, and the event is Pokémon themed! The waterpark is a Pokestop and lure modules will be installed all day.

Registration starts at 9am. Cash and checks made payable to The Hub will be accepted. First 100 participants receive a race t-shirt. The 2K starts at 10am and the park opens at 11am. Race participants can purchase a $10 plus tax ticket to stay and play at the park after the event.

“We were planning on having our very first Splash & Dash race in August. During the planning process we talked about the popularity of Pokémon and we thought it would be fun to merge the two together,” says Sara Kleinecke, spokesperson Splash Kingdom Waterpark Shreveport.

Music Mountain Water will be on hand to pass out water to race participants. Other 2K sponsors include Sprint by United Cellular, First Priority, Holiday Lanes, Sweet Frog Frozen Yogurt and Cici’s Pizza.
