#TBT Do You Remember The Shreveport Captains? (Video)
I drive by the old Fairgrounds Field everyday wishing to see a return of baseball to Shreveport! I never got to see a game played at the old stadium but I've heard stories all over town showing how much the team is truly missed. Fairgrounds Field was home to the Shreveport Captains who were sold and moved to Frisco, Texas. Check out an old commercial for the Captains below, it'll bring back memories for sure!
I talked to people around the office about their favorite memories from the Captains... Erin McCarty loved the "ice cream in plastic helmets and the song “Shout” during the 7th inning stretch. Oh, and lots of dancing on the tables in the beer garden!" The soft serve ice cream and Beer Garden seemed to be extremely popular with everyone!
Could we see a comeback of the Shreveport Captains? I can only hope! But until then let us know your favorite memories of the Shreveport Captains.
