When it comes to having a good time, our local Mardi Gras krewes are the experts!

The Krewe of Gemini is hosting a 'Spooktacular' Halloween party at the Bossier Civic Center this Saturday, October 31, 2020, from 7 - 11 pm with music by DJ Gill and catering by Silver Star. Tickets are $40 and include an open bar and costume contest. Sign me up! DJ Gill is one of my favorites and I love the food from Silver Star. When you add in the fact that you could win a Halloween costume contest and the event is open bar??? Done! There's nowhere else in town you'll get that kind of bang for your buck. I can't think of any other place where you can go out, enjoy live entertainment, eat, and drink for $40 a person!

Plus, the Krewe of Gemini will be taking safety seriously when it comes to COVID-19 mitigation efforts. They love their members, but the good news is, you don't have to be a member to attend Saturday. In fact, if you've been thinking about joining a Mardi Gras krewe, this is a great opportunity to kick the tires when it comes to Gemini, the oldest parading Mardi Gras krewe in the Ark-La-Tex. However, if you'd like to become a member, you can find out more here.

Get involved with the magic and pageantry of celebrating Mardi Gras in the Ark-La-Tex. In case you don't know much about Mardi Gras in NWLA, here's a bit of history thanks to member Sue Cooksey, who says, 'The Krewe of Gemini is the original parading Krewe in modern times in Shreveport and Bossier City, LA. The KOG is a nonprofit volunteer organization including members from all walks of life who enjoy promoting the Mardi Gras spirit in Louisiana.'

Just keep in mind that it'll be a full moon Saturday night... Make sure you have a ride home or the Lyft or Uber app on your phone just in case!
