When I saw the question about what restaurant I missed the most from my childhood here in Shreveport-Bossier City online today, the answer was easy... The Teddy Bear Den on Barksdale Boulevard in Bossier City! I want to say USA Cafe is where the old 'Den' was now, but I can still remember, as clear as it was yesterday, my mom letting me browse my way around the restaurant to check out all of the different bears and their descriptions as long as I didn't bother the other diners. That place was made for childhood memories!

What were some of our other local favorites? I took to social media to find out. It turns out that I'm not alone in remembering The Teddy Bear Den fondly. Their mushroom swiss burger was awesome! Other favorites were Pancho's, the Hayride Kitchen, Brocato's, and Shakey's Pizza. One interesting thing to note is how many buffets and family style restaurants made the cut, like Piccadilly and Western Sizzlin'... restaurants that we couldn't even begin to conceive of bringing back now because of coronavirus.

It's kinda funny that the older you get, you can't always trust your memory. I'm glad to know I'm not crazy and that we really did have a Showbiz Pizza in Shreveport. When you're a former military brat, sometimes the places that you've lived can run together over time. So, what were some of your favorites? Take a trip down memory lane with all of the fun comments in the post below and make sure to add your own special eateries! As always, feel free to give me a follow!
