Today Is My Favorite Day Of The Work Year

Yes, I usually go on vacation for Christmas week, but that's not why this is my favorite day of the year.

Today, I have the honor of joining with local police officers, firefighers, and Bossier Parish Deputies in making deliveries for Operation Santa Claus.  It is our Barney Cannon Smile run and we are going to Shriner's Hospital and Sutton Children's Hospital.

  I can't even imagine having one of my boys in the hospital during the holidays.  We bring each child in these hospitals a toy.  But it is so much more than that.  The youngsters love seeing the firetruck, the police motorcycle and the officers and the firefighters.  Mickey Mouse even came along with us last year.  My hope is that we can bring a little joy to the kiddos during a really traumatic time in their lives.  I also hope today gives the parents a chance to take a break from the monotony and see a smile on their child's face.  I pray for them all this time of year.  God Bless!
