Today Is The 99th Anniversary Of Titanic Sinking

A very historic day today. 99 years ago, the worst maritime disaster in modern history occured. You know the one. You've seen the movie. Titanic strikes an iceberg on it's maiden voyage to New York. 1523 souls are lost. There are maritime regulations in place largely because of Titanic. The most important being that there must be enough lifeboats aboard for ALL passengers.

And of course the movie "Titanic" from 1997 continues to be one of the most popular of all time. The tragic event still strikes a chord with so many people, even today.
