If you have bought ready-to-eat chicken from Kroger, Sav-A-Lot, ALDI, or any of the stores listed here, you need to check the packaging right away.  Earlier this week, the USDA expanded an existing recall on some specific Tip Top Poultry products due to a concern over the potentially deadly bacteria listeria.

A voluntary recall frozen cooked, diced or shredded poultry products was issued by the company on Sept. 28, but after further investigation revealed that the possibly tainted chicken was used in a wider variety of products than previously thought it was expanded.  So, before you throw the original white meat down for some dinner tonight - make sure you check to see that you aren't using the forbidden poultry.

Check for the USDA mark of inspection on your chicken, and if you find an Est. number of P-17453 - but the yard bird down.  This Chick-Fil-Ain't was produced between Jan. 21st and Sept. 24th of this year, and will have a product code between 10000 to 19999 and 70000 to 79999.  If your chicken lines up, return it to the store where you bought it for an exchange or refund right away.
