I never thought I was smart enough for someone to plagiarize my work, much less someone from Pakistan!

In the wake of the Varsity Blues scandal and the eagle eye folks now have on education, I never thought this would happen to me. I've been taking an online course through Coursera from the University of Florida. It's a continuing education course for horse enthusiasts and I thought it would be great prep for me personally because, after all, I'm the crazy horse lady on the radio. Plus, I've been working toward becoming a certified therapeutic riding instructor.

In this particular course, students are responsible for a weekly assignment regarding that week's material and it's scored by peer evaluations.

Imagine my surprise as I'm going through, doing my mandatory peer evaluations and I see my own work staring back at me. I mean, the guy literally changed one word... from Louisiana to Pakistan. That's it. I was stunned. And then I was mad.

I had worked particularly hard on this assignment and researched the subject, not only with my local veterinarian, but through other online resources. The NERVE.

So what did I do? I'm not going to lie, I was a tattle tale. I turned him in immediately.

Have you ever had your work stolen, because that's what this amounts to, and what did you do about it? Did I do the right thing? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
