What Should Shreveport’s Slogan Be?
I came across some U-Haul trucks this week that had city slogans prominently featured. One was for St. Petersburg, Florida. It says "World Class Dolphin Watching".
Another for Weyburn in Canada said "World's First Curling Museum".
It got me to thinking what Shreveport's slogan should be. We started checking and found that we kind of have a slogan. It's not just for Shreveport, though. It's Shreveport Bossier - Louisiana's Other Side. Prior to that Shreveport had this slogan: What is good for Shreveport is good for me.
I started to look for other city slogans. Here are the most famous:
Las Vegas: “What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas”
New York, N.Y.: “The City That Never Sleeps”
Hershey, Pa.: “The Sweetest Place on Earth”
Austin, Texas: “Keep Austin Weird”
Cleveland, OH: “Cleveland Rocks!”
New Orleans: Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulez
Nashville, TN: “The Music City”
Here are slogans from other cities:
Eagle Pass, Texas: “Where Yee-Hah! ...
Santa Fe, NM: “The City Different”
Jim Thorpe, PA: “The Switzerland of America”
Coachella, CA: “City of eternal sunshine”
Belleview, WA: “City in a Park”
Rockland, ME: “Lobster Capital of the World”
Freeland, PA: “The most happening place on Earth”
Madisonville, KY: “The best town on Earth”
Glendive, MT: “Where the best begins”
Rochester, NY: “I’d Rather Be in Rochester – It’s Got It”
Cambridge, OH: “Together for a Better Tomorrow”
Ashburton, NZ: “Whatever it Takes”
Rockville, MD: “Get into it”
Richmond, MI: “With Time for You”
Hico, TX: “Where everybody is somebody”
Eustis, FL: “The city of bright tomorrows”
Marshall, MN: “A Better Way to Live!”
Auburn, WA: “More than you imagined”
