What Was ‘Breaking Bad’ Star Bryan Cranston Doing In A New Orleans Court Room?
Bryan Cranston spent some time in a New Orleans courthouse today (7/16), but what for?
According to NOLA.com, Cranston observed hearings in a New Orleans court room for two men who are accused of real-life murders. Turns out, he's doing research during his visit to the Orleans Parish Criminal District courthouse.
He sat in the court room doing his best to stay incognito, wearing shorts and a polo shirt. It didn't take long, though, for word to spread to judges, prosecutors, and public defenders that they had a famous visitor.
When he was asked why he was there, he didn't give much info, just saying that he was there for research, and that it would all be revealed soon.
He did spend about 30 minutes in the chambers of Judge Franz Zibilich. It might be of note that last month, Showtime announced that Cranston would be playing a judge on a 10-episode drama set in New Orleans called “Your Honor.”
According to a synopsis of the series from Showtime, Cranston's son is involved in a hit-and-run accident, followed by "a high-stakes game of lies, deceit and impossible choices.”
Production on the series is set to start September 23.
