Picking out the perfect pumpkin is an experience in and of itself.

Fall is here and with the arrival of October, it's time to get pumpkin crazy. Pumpkin patches are fun for everyone because they typically aren't just pumpkin patches. Many include other activities like corn mazes, cider and snacks, hayrides, photo opportunities for the 'gram and more. In some cases, it's not even about picking out a pumpkin. It's about family.

So maybe this year, you visit the best patch our state has to offer.

According to Good Housekeeping the best pumpkin patch in Louisiana is Mrs. Heather's Pumpkin Patch in Hammond. That's a bit of a trek for us, but Mrs. Heather promises activities like a zip line, merry-go-round, and pedal tractors. Children's tickets are always $7 and parents get in for free.

Finally, something that is free for the parents... Well, except for the gas to get to Hammond.
