Who’s Got The Best Drive-Thru Christmas Light Displays Around?
I've always believed that you give credit where credit is due. That said, this one is all because my cousin Katie McCoy Moore, asked a simple question on Facebook.
She wrote, "I’ve never been to one of the drive through Christmas lights and we are planning to go soon. Which do you prefer?! Carmela’s in Longview or Candy Cane Lane in Calhoun?"
When I read the question, I was immediately drawn to the responses as I've never been through one of these either. We've gone through the live nativity they've held at the Church of the Cross, Central Assembly in Haughton, but never one of the Christmas light displays.
Well, reading these comments showed me just how much my family has missed out on, so before the season is over, it's time for a Christmas Edition Road Trip!
Thinking you might want to take your family and hit one of these spots?
Carmela's Magical Santa Land is actually the closest since they are in Longview, Texas and their Facebook page shows us they're open nightly from 5:30 until 10:00 pm. And when you see comments like this, you realize this might be just the spot for your family.
As I continued researching, I found the website for Candy Cane Lane in Calhoun, La. It's just west of Monroe so only about an hour and a half drive from Shreveport. They're open nightly from 6 to 10pm through January 2nd and this place looks like a hoot!
Looking at the Facebook page for Santa Land in Tyler, Texas I discovered they are open 6pm to 10:30pm all the way through January 4th. There was even this great virtual guided tour on YouTube.
Hope you and the family get to enjoy one of these spots! I know me and my gang are going to!
