Samuel Davis, a 10-year-old student from Shreveport, LA received a big honor this week when he was named as a Scholastic News Kid Reporter out of a field of more than 200 applicants!

William 'Sam' Davis is truly an exceptional kid who says he's an amateur scientist, likes to play chess and guitar and serves on his school's student council and safety patrol.

Samuel Davis, a 10-year-old from Shreveport, Louisiana, was named as a Scholastic News Kid Reporter this week. He was chosen from more than 200 applicants who submitted an original news report about their communities.

The Scholastic News Kids Press Corps is a team of young journalists, ages 10-14, who report on “news for kids, by kids” with coverage of current events, breaking news, entertainment stories, and sports events from their hometowns and on the national stage. Their stories appear on the Scholastic News Online website and in select issues of Scholastic’s classroom magazines, which are read by more than 25 million students in classrooms nationwide.
