For some reason, some of the more interesting events in my life occur while filling up the truck. Some years back, I was filling the tank while the truck was at the station filling the underground tanks. Result: A tank full of water stirred up in the below-ground tank. I made it 4 blocks down the street before she shut down. Had to have the tank on my truck pulled and drained. Lesson learned. NEVER fill your tank while the tanker truck is on site filling the tanks!

About a year and a half ago, I was filling up when I noticed a customer doing the same on the opposite side of the pumps who was wearing a Washington Redskins sweatshirt. Being a D.C. native and diehard Redskins fan myself, I had to find out more about this, since you don't see many Skins fans around here. As it turns out, this person was NOT a Redskins fan at all! He told me, quote: "I HATE the Redskins! My mom lives in D.C. and buys me this stuff all the time. I'm a Cowboys fan!" Of course, the question that entered my mind was, why would you wear the sweatshirt representing a team you hated? You would NEVER catch me wearing a Cowboys jersey in public. Just saying.

Take care and thanks for listening! And always remember, please don't talk on the cellphone while pumping gas. The life you save could be your own(and mine!).
