Is anything safe with technology anymore?

According to CNN, Apple has disabled the group-chat FaceTime function after a bug was discovered and made public a day earlier that let a caller hear and see the person they were calling without the person answering.

The incident happened when a individual making a call added themselves to the call to launch a group chat.  To make matters even worse, if the caller hit the power or volume button to ignore the call, the camera will begin sending back video from the recipient too.

The bug was first discovered by accident as a 14-year-old boy from Arizona called his friends to play Fortnite and his family tried to inform Apple more than a week before it was made public.  The FaceTime group-chat can hold up to 32 users and was released in October for iPhones, iPads, and Macs.

Apple will be sending out software updates this week to correct the problem and the FaceTime feature is still available.
