Lady Gaga dropped the first print ad for her Fame fragrance and she is naked, covered only by a black latex mask over her eyes and dozens of little men crawling all over her. It’s like David and Goliath, for perfumaniacs. It’s quite the intentional wardrobe malfunction, isn’t it?
The image is NSFW, since Gaga is as naked as the day she was born, save for those few strategically placed miniature dudes, who are clawing on and clinging to her skin. They look like spiders crawling all over her.
No Doubt shift into overdrive for their ‘Settle Down‘ video. Each member of the band starts off behind the wheel of their own Mack truck, but they’re not exactly operating them safely. They’re checking maps and not really paying attention. But then again, they’re on a mission to reunite, so they speed things up.
It was a busy week for Lady Gaga as she hit Los Angeles with a pair of one-digit salutes, talked cucumbers and vasectomies with a troubled (former) starlet and then bounced as fashionably as she arrived. She boarded a private jet when leaving the City of Angels, wearing a covetable pair of Chanel suspenders and studded Mary Jane platforms.
Lady Gaga‘s Fame perfume is due at the end of summer (in late August or September) and the marketing team behind the scent is moving full steam ahead. They also have a secret weapon to help promote the black liquid scent, which has a trampoline structure, meaning notes rise at different rates, as opposed to pyramidal, with bottom, middle and top layers, like most scents boast. Their big gun is Gaga herself. She is expected to tweet about and promote the scent and help push it to $100 million in global sales its first year on counters.
(Now former) ‘American Idol‘ judges Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler each announced their departure from the show this week, with Lopez announcing that she was moving on during a chat with ‘Idol’ host Ryan Seacrest on Friday (July 13). Tyler beat her to the punch, releasing a statement about his imminent exit the day before. Now a report has surfaced indicating that each judge was fired, even though the show allowed them to bow out gracefully.
What does Taylor Swift have that, say, peers such as Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Adele don’t? The official title of ‘Highest Paid Celebrity Under 30,’ that’s what. Swift was crowned with this accolade by Forbes, which annually estimates and tallies the earnings of celebrities. The singer topped the overall list, edging out many of her contemporary, popular music peers by collecting approximately $57 million in income between May 2011 and May 2012.
While most kids are groaning at the idea of back-to-school supplies in mid-July, Lady Gaga and her Born This Way Foundation, which is spearheaded by her adorable mother Cynthia Germanotta, make the idea of paper and pen fun thanks to their limited edition products, which will be sold at Office Depot.
On tonight’s (July 12) episode of ‘Duets,’ each remaining contestant sang a duet with their superstar mentor and a solo song. They were allowed to pick each song they performed. For his duet with Kelly Clarkson, amateur Jason Farol chose ‘Me and Mrs. Jones,’ a bluesy, torchy ballad about infidelity. For his solo song, he tackled ‘Runaway Baby’ by Bruno Mars.
On tonight’s (July 12) episode of ‘Duets,’ the remaining amateurs performed twice — once with their superstar and once solo. Jennifer Nettles, who still has two horses in this race, performed ‘The Prayer’ by Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion with her “other” amateur partner John Glosson. For his solo song, Glosson tackled ‘Bless the Broken Road’ by country trio Rascal Flatts.
On tonight’s (July 12) episode of ‘Duets,’ each remaining contestant sang with their mentor and performed solo. Both songs were of their own choosing. Superstar Jennifer Nettles and her amateur duet partner J. Rome chose to sing the Script’s ‘Breakeven.’ For his solo jam, Rome selected Stevie Wonder’s ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered.’
On tonight’s (July 12) penultimate episode of Season 1 of ‘Duets,’ judges’ favorite John Glosson was actually in the bottom two, along with Bridget Carrington. It was Carrington, the amateur partner of superstar John Legend, who was voted off and sent home by the American public. We’re bummed to see her go since she had so much charisma.
