SPAR (Shreveport Parks and Recreation) has teamed up with the Bilberry Community Center Park Advisory Board for the 17th Annual Merry Berry Christmas Festival at Bilberry Park Community Center in Shreveport kicking off Friday, December 6th!

Shreveport Public Assembly and Recreation (SPAR), in conjunction with the Bilberry Community Center Park Advisory Council, announce the 17th Annual Merry Berry Christmas Festival at Bilberry Park Community Center (1902 Alabama).  The Festival kicks off with a lighting ceremony on Friday, December 6th at 6:00 PM.  Christmas lights will be turned on marking the beginning of the annual Merry Berry Christmas Festival.  The program features Professor JoAnne Walker as guest speaker.  Refreshments will be served following the program.  The event is free and open to the public.

On Friday, December 13, 2013, the Merry Berry Christmas Festival Pageant will be held.  The pageant begins at 6:00 PM.   There are three divisions:  elementary girls, middle school girls and high school girls.  Awards will be presented to first, second and third places in each division.  The first place winner in each division will receive a tiara and trophy.  Each pageant participant will receive beauty tips.

The Merry Berry Festival and Parade will be Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Bilberry Park Community Center.  The parade begins at 10:00 AM on the grounds of the State Fair of Louisiana.  The festival will be held at the Bilberry Park Community Center (1902 Alabama) from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM and will feature a visit from Santa, a spelling bee, an essay contest, music, games, arts and crafts and refreshments.

The public is invited to come out and help celebrate Christmas season at Bilberry Park Community Center located at 1902 Alabama Street.
