Driving Lesson Turns Into Rescue

Some frightening moments for a local family when their car crashed into the bayou on East Kings Highway near Captain Shreve High School.

Parents were teaching their 14-year-old daughter to drive in the parking lot when the young girl accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake. The car jumped a couple of curbs and cruised down the hill right into the bayou. The family was rescued, but a baby in the car was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
