Complete but unofficial returns from today's election show that former State Senator Greg Tarver
has regained the District-39 State Senate seat that has been held by Lydia Jackson with 52-1/2 percent of the vote.
In the race for the District-3 State House seat, incumbent Barbara Norton
has defeated challenger Lynn Cawthorne by a margin of 56-percent to 44-percent.
In the 10th District race, Gene Reynolds has defeated Jerri Ray de Pingre' by a 55-45 margin.
In the race for a Shreveport City Judgeship, Sheva Sims
has defeated Shante' Wells 54-46. The statewide constitutional amendment to prohibit a tax on the transfer of property is supported by 81 percent of Louisiana voters. The riverboat referendum in Bossier Parish
has been approved by 61-percent of voters. Coach Bob Brotherton has won the District-1 runoff for the Bossier Parish Police Jury with 66-percent of the vote. Wanda Bennett has won re-election to District-3 with 52-percent of the vote and Sonny Cook has won the District-4 seat with 53-percent of the vote.
