Don't expect Hollywood to make a movie about this attempted prison break. Mexican police say a woman tried to wheel her husband out of prison in a suitcase following a conjugal visit.
A guard became suspicious when the woman seemed nervous and the suitcase looked bulky.

Joey Chestnut won the July 4th Hot Dog eating contest in Brooklyn. He ate 62 dogs in ten minutes. Now while this was going on, former champ Takeru Kobayashi ate 69 hot dogs in ten minutes at another competing event.

Stories from Friday July 1st:
Few things feel better than stepping out with a fat paycheck in your pocket. But a new study proves that it just might be anything but good. In fact, it can be downright deadly. University of Notre Dame  research finds that mortality rates significantly increased the week after checks showed up in their mailboxes. The three causes of death with the largest increases were substance abuse, external causes (all kinds of accidents) and heart attacks.  “After getting paid, people are just more active -- they go out to dinner, head to the store, drive more, go to bars, etc..

The 22-year-old woman arrived at an emergency room complaining of abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. A scan of her midsection was normal. She was sent home. She returned, however, even sicker from jaundice her liver was failing.  The staff checked her for viruses, alcohol and drugs. Nothing. Then the woman revealed a key part of her diet over the previous two weeks: 10 bottles of 5-Hour Energy per day.
Math time, lady: If the product indeed provides a five-hour boost, that two-week binge totaled 700 hours of “energy.” There are only 336 hours in two weeks.

Stories from Thursday June 30th:
A 30-year-old Ohio woman is accused of assaulting deputies with her breast milk. Stephanie Robinette got into a fight with her husband....and locked herself in the car.  As deputies were removing her from the car, the very drunk woman pulled out her weapon of choice and began squirting the deputy.  Robinette warned the officers that she was breast feeding and she would spray them if they did not leave her alone.

Don and Brenda Hoch wanted an unusual pet....so they bought a skunk in a pet store.  They love their little buddy so much that the Hudson, Fla., now has 15 skunks.   Their original pet skunk, Spike, shares his permanent home with fourteen others the couple are fostering for Florida Skunk Rescue. Eventually the skunks will move to permanent homes.  The skunks are de-scented at a young age, around two to three weeks old.

No gender stereotypes at a preschool in Sweden. The staff is no longer allowed to use words like "him" or "her". The children are not called girls or boys. The children are all called "friends". One teacher there says , ``society expects girls to be girlie and boys to be rough and outgoing." He says the school gives the children an opportunity to be whoever they want to be.

An Indiana high school basketball star might not know if he's cursed or blessed. He is critical today after surviving a plane crash that killed his father and stepmother. And even more tragic to this story is that in 2003, Austin Hatch was in a plane crash that killed his mother and two siblings. His father was piloting both times. The 16 year old is in a coma. He recently accepted a scholarship offer from the University of Michigan.
