Pat Summitt is one of the most winning coach in the NCAA in BOTH Men's and Women's basketball. What is sad is that she hasn't received much recognition for her efforts, until recently, when she decided that it was time to retire because of the on-set of dementia.

Coach Summitt has served as the coach of the Tennessee Lady Vol's since 1974-75's season. She has even been coach of the Women's Olympic Basketball Team for the USA. She has even coached a perfect season in the 1997-98 season. For all of her efforts, this woman has landed as #11 on the Top 50 list of coaches of all time according to the Sporting News. What a wonderful testament to her life.

But even with all of her wins in Basketball, it raises the question, "why do bad things happen to good people?" To answer that question, Coach Summitt's son, Tyler was on CBS and has said that his mother is remaining with with the school as a Coach Emeritus. The family has also launched The Pat Summitt Foundation, which has been created to raise money to find a cure Alzheimer's and dementia. To quote Tyler Summit, "We've always known that God has had a bigger plan for her than just coaching basketball."

God Bless You Pat on your final journey. The journey will not be easy, but just know, there are so many people who are honored to carry on your legacy in Basketball and your foundation.
