It's 13.1 hours of cycling for our local kids. You want in?

I've been participating in Miracle Challenge the last few weeks. It's 27 days of getting fit and raising money for our local kids through Children's Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN). The money raised, stays right here in Shreveport-Bossier to help our local families. These are families who use the services offered through 17 programs at CHRISTUS Health Shreveport-Bossier that are funded by CMN. With CMN no child is ever turned away regardless of their ability to pay.

Wednesday, April 27 is the final day of Miracle Challenge. To top it all off with a pretty bow, we are doing the ultimate challenge. Adria Goins of KSLA and myself have decided to hold a Bike-a-Thon.

We're cycling for 13.1 hours.

It sounds insane, but it's all for the kids. We'll be set up at CHRISTUS Louisiana Athletic Club in Shreveport and will each have a team of people who can sub in for us on the bikes.

Mason will also have a team.

Mason is eight years old and a local kid who does pediatric therapy at Kids Clinic. He loves to ride his bike and will be joining us Wednesday to cycle. Of course Mason can't go for 13.1 hours, not like anyone could do that, so he will be equipped with a team as well.

My goal is to raise $500 by the end of our Bike-a-Thon.

We will begin at 5 a.m. on Wednesday and won't quit until 6 p.m. If you would like to donate, you can do so here or at MiracleChallenge.org. If you don't have the financial means to donate but you would like to help in some way, you are more than welcome to join me on the bike. Just let me know what time you want to come and I'll stick you on a bike and post about you on our social media. Whether it's time or even just a few dollars, every little bit counts.
