Katy Perry‘s fierce fashion is nothing new, but her fondness for haute headgear is. First it was her records and block at the 2011 MTV VMAs. Now, the ‘Teenage Dream’ singer rocked the biggest flower we’ve ever seen at the MusiCares benefit gala honoring Paul McCartney.

Perry, who can more often than not be found flaunting her ample cleavage, donned a rather modest petal pink lace and silk gown by French designer Alexis Mabille (per E! Online). Of course, the spotlight-loving star had to grab attention other ways — hence her hat.

The huge floral headpiece matched the singer’s gown and was a sharp but beautiful contrast to her shock of electric blue hair and sparkling diamond earrings. She paired the wild wildflower ensemble with her usual flawless makeup: porcelain skin, long lashes (perhaps from her signature line) and crimson lips.

Despite the statement her outfit made on the red carpet, the recent-divorcee declined interviews. Perry did express herself onstage, however, performing a moving rendition of ‘Hey Jude.’ She was accompanied by a pink music stand, baton and dazzling crystal-encrusted mic. We wouldn’t expect anything less from the candy-colored diva — and now we’re more excited than ever to see what she wears at tomorrow’s Grammy ceremony!
