John Mayer and Katy Perry are like the Ross and Rachel of the pop music world. No one has any idea what their current relationship status is, but they always manage to find their way back to each other for some reason. And so it was during one of Grateful Dead's three Fare Thee Well concert dates in Chicago this past Saturday (July 4), in a sighting that ignited whispers of a possible reconciliation between the two once more.

Rumors about the on-again/off-again status of their relationship have pervaded the music scene ad nauseam since their first split in 2013, and it looks like nothing has changed. According to Perez Hilton, Katy and John were spotted in the crowd together, getting pretty cozy during the show. A few fans in attendance took some less-than-stealthy photos of the two, one of which you can check out above.

The couple reportedly broke up initially because of their hectic schedules and John's supposed constant need for attention. A source said (via Perez Hilton), "The reason they have split in the past is because Katy gets busy. John can’t handle the lack of attention, and she can’t handle the trust issues she has when she’s so far away."

Katy and John -- whose couple name has, regretfully, been deemed "Jaty" -- were also recently seen hanging out at Disneyland together, so it's at least safe to assume they don't hate each other.

What do you guys think? Did a "Firework" or two from the past patriotic holiday inspire some "Clarity" between this "Hot n Cold" pair at long last? Deadheads, you weigh in too: Is Katy John's "Sugar Magnolia," or is their love permanently a "Brokedown Palace" on "Shakedown Street"? Feel free to abuse more song titles in the comments below.
