According to the state department of education, Louisiana saw the most students in the history of the state get a high school diploma in 2016. Nearly 39,000 in the state graduated, which is roughly 77% percent of the graduation cohort.

Locally, DeSoto Parish schools had the highest graduation rate with 94.1 percent. Bossier Parish had an 82.8 percent graduation rate. Caddo had the lowest in the area at 73.6 percent.

As a whole, Louisiana hopes to have a 90% graduation rate state wide by 2025.
