For the last couple of days everyone's been talking about the 'super moon', the most spectacular full moon of the year. It appears to be so large because right now the moon's orbit around earth brings it closer than at any other time in 2013.

Our view of the moon here in the ArkLaTex was amazing, to say the least. Numerous folks around the area commented how it was so bright they could read a book or magazine while standing outside. But I think my friend Shawn said it best: 'The super moon is so big I look thin when I stand in front of it!'
