The Shreveport Fire Department responded to the 2700 block of Murray Street Wednesday morning at 7:25 a.m. for a reported house fire. Engine 8 arrived on scene at 7:29 a.m. and reported heavy smoke showing from the front of a single story wood frame residential home.

Firefighters made entry into the home and found heavy fire conditions in a front bedroom. Fire crews were able to contain the fire to the front bedroom of the home. It took seven fire units, with twenty-one firefighters, thirteen minutes to bring the situation under control.

The front living area and bedroom sustain heavy fire damage; the home was occupied at the time of the fire. All occupants were able to escape unharmed prior to the fire departments arrival. There were no utilities connected to the home at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported and the fire remains under investigations at this time.
