Area Prepares For Flooding By Providing Sandbags

The City of Shreveport is providing sandbags to residents and businesses that anticipate flooding near their properties.

Sandbags may be picked up at the Streets and Drainage Yard, 3825 Mansfield Road.

The City began issuing sandbags at 8 a.m. today, 25 per individual. This operation will extend as needed each day throughout the week between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Caddo Parish residents can pick up sandbags from the Parish Public Works facility at 1701 Monty Street between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. weekdays. Each pick up is limited to 25 bags.

In Bossier City, residents may pick up sandbags at the public service complex, 3223 Old Shed Rd. from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Bossier Parish residents will find sandbags available at the police jury highway department maintenance complex, 410 Mayfield St. in Benton from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
